About + FAQ
The Town of Little Elm is working to update the rules and regulations that guide development in the town - the Land Development Code (LDC). The LDC update is being managed by a project team comprised of Town staff from the Development Services Department and supported by Clarion Associates, a national land-use consulting firm.
Project Goals
Overarching goals for the LDC update include:
-
Establish clear standards that result in predicable processes and results.
-
Develop flexible, context-sensitive standards that work as well with new, large developments as individual properties and infill development so the community can adapt to future changes.
-
Achieve high-quality development and redevelopment projects that are consistent community expectations and State and Federal law.
-
Improve the link between land use and transportation by considering the safety, convenience, and comfort of people walking, rolling, biking, or driving.
-
Create development review processes that are as simple, streamlined, flexible, and easy to administer and enforce as possible.
-
Improve user-friendliness with a document that is easy to read, understand, and interpret, and includes tables, graphics, and illustrations to accompany standards.
